Your local wine merchant at Quorn Fair
Quorn food and craft trail on the 4th December proved to be a huge success at introducing Kilo Wines (your local wine merchant) to the local community of Quorn and surrounding areas.
With this being our first food and craft fair, we were unsure exactly what to expect and were delighted with the warm reception from people who turned up to see what the fair had to offer. The event was cast around the village with stalls in the village hall, at the cross in the centre and at the bowls club. Maps of the trail were available for people to follow, all proceeds going to charity.
Local area residents and some from further afield poured in as the event started on the Sunday morning, and a steady stream of people came along to the bowls club where we were positioned. We were delighted to hear that many people had heard of Kilo already, either through people in the village who may have tasted our wines at Scotts Wine bar or at the Royal Oak, or having received one of our flyers through their door.
The majority of people and were keen to sample our range of wines sourced from all across Italy. There was an overwhelmingly positive response to the wines that were tasted, which was reinforced by many people taking bottles and gift packs away to enjoy over the Christmas holiday.
The ‘Win Wine’ competition proved popular with over 100 entries! James McKinlay and Lisa Burgoyne both from the village being the lucky individuals, having their tickets picked out shortly after the event finished. Visitors stayed until dusk to see the village Christmas lights being illuminated, which for us as relative newbies to the village was a lovely end to the day. The event overall proved to be a success in not only promoting local small businesses, but in bringing the community together.
We look forward to the event again next year and thank you to all those who came to support us.
