Description

The estate owns 23 hectares of Greco and Aglianico vineyards located around Tufo in the villages of Santa Lucia, San Paolo and Santa Paolina at an altitude that varies from 250 m to 500 m above sea level. The soil is mostly clay and limestone on gentle slopes orientated mostly south west. The Greco variety was brought in the area by Scipione di Marzo in the seventeenth century.

The vines themselves come from the estate nursery where the vines are carefully selected by the staff of the estate according to each parcel of vineyard. This preserved an extremely pure genotype of the vines which are the result of a long uninterrupted lineage that dates back to its origins. Despite of the fact that the location is especially appropriate for growing Greco, the estates Aglianico vineyards give grapes of extraordinary quality. Certain parcels of land have been selected for Aglianico giving results better than the best forecasts.
